Winter Gardens Earns Organic Manufacturer Certification

 

NEW OXFORD, PA – Winter Gardens Quality Foods is now certified as an organic manufacturer by Pennsylvania Certified Organic, Centre Hall, PA.

 

Winter Gardens is a family owned business with over 40 years’ experience in producing high-quality fresh soups, salads, entrees and desserts. Organic certification means the company has been approved to produce a specific line of organic items in addition to its current line.

 

            “For us to stay on the leading edge of consumer food demands, it was important that we earn this certification,” said company President Tom Bross, III. “The market is changing for refrigerated prepared foods. We see an increased demand for all-natural, better-for-you products. And while organic is a small niche, it’s growing faster than any other segment in the food industry. We hope to capitalize on that.”

 

            Winter Gardens now seeks to establish relationships with other companies committed to providing delicious, innovative, socially responsible and environmentally friendly prepared foods. Already, the company has landed a two-year contract to make soups for an organic food marketer specializing in frozen and refrigerated prepared organic entrees and soups.
